Fed Powell's job just got safer. US court reinstates FTC head, Trump fired without cause
- A set back for Trump
By a 2 to 1 vote a DC Circuit appeals court just reinstated Rebecca Slaughter to the FTC.
This is despite Trump's attempt to fire her without cited cause.
At the margin this is good news for Federal Reserve Chair Powell remaining in his job for now. Powel;l is due to end his term in May 2026.
