Malaysia Industrial Output Growth Rebounds In June

Malaysia's industrial output growth accelerated in June after easing in the previous month, figures from the Department of Statistics showed on Thursday.

Industrial production rose 3.0 percent year-over-year in June, faster than the 0.3 percent increase in the previous month. Production has been rising since January 2024.

Among sectors, the annual growth in manufacturing improved to 3.6 percent in June from 2.8 percent in May. The decline in mining production moderated sharply to 0.1 percent from 10.2 percent, and electricity production rebounded strongly by 4.1 percent.

On a monthly basis, industrial output grew 7.6 percent in June, following a 1.1 percent rise in May.
